My work is driven by a desire to find quiet beauty found in the world around us. With street photography I look for scenes that might otherwise pass unnoticed—a particular quality of light, the structure of a building or sign, the emotion of a passerby, or the subtle relationship between natural and built environments. Through careful composition and attention to light, I transform these moments into photographs intended to evoke a feeling as much as document a place.

As much as I love street photography, I am also drawn to photographing creative stills.  My workflow is simple, I develop a concept, create the scene, and compose the shot.  Each step is equally satisfying. Rather than simply reproducing a scene, I strive to create photographs with a sense of depth, balance, and atmosphere—images that reveal something new as they are viewed over time.

nvsPhoto is ultimately a celebration of place, light, and the moments that make us stop, look and think.
